Bright Moon Shines over the Sea

Created for the Mid-Autumn Festival, this design draws on the Chinese poem that imagines people sharing the same moon across a distant sea. A 15 mm golden South Sea pearl becomes the full moon above a deep blue setting.

Crystal and lapis lazuli are combined through a layered inlay technique to suggest the depth and movement of seawater. The piece translates a poetic image into color, light, and a small sculptural landscape.
